2 Day Trips

Places to visit:  Day 1: Drive to Visit Gori. Optional visit to J. Stalin Museum. Excursion to Uplistsikhe cave town (7th c. BC.). Visit Ateni Sioni church (7th c.). Continue to Kutaisi. Night in Kutaisi at the guesthouse.  Day 2: Excursion to Bagrati Temple (11^th c) and Gelati Monastery (12^th c.). Return Tbilisi.

Places to visit:  Day 1: Drive to Visit Gori. Optional visit to J. Stalin Museum. Excursion to Uplistsikhe cave town (7th c. BC.). Visit Ateni Sioni church (7th c.). Continue to Bakuriani ski resort in southern part of Georgia. Night in Bakuriani. Hotel.  Day 2: Drive to the cave town Vardzia. Excursion in Vardzia. Places to visit:  Day 1: Excursion to David Gareji Monastery. Walk up to Udabno (frescos of the 8th-13th c). Visit Lavra. Continue to Telavi, Kakheti Province. Hotel or a guesthouse. Places to visit: Day 1: Drive along River Aragvi Valley, Pshavi province and cross Datvis Jvari Pass (2768m) on the Greater Caucasus down to Pirikita Khevsureti. Arrive village Shatili and excursion in the Shatili Fortress. Night in Shatili. Day 2: Optional trip in the river Andaki Valley to visit the fortress of Mutso. Return Tbilisi.
